Ashiana Children’s Home Event

In November, I traveled to the town of Panchkula in the state of Haryana, India. With me I brought 500 toothbrushes and tubes of toothpaste, graciously donated by our partners, to give to children at Ashiana Children’s Home, a orphanage that offers vocational training to impoverished youth as well as providing housing to orphans. Ashiana has been around for a long time, and is a highly reputable organization. In fact, Mother Theresa visited Ashiana as part of her charitable mission.

Project32’s inaugural event was held in November 2016 at Ashiana Children’s Home in Chandigarh, India in conjunction with Haryana State Legal Services Authority (HALSA) and High Court of Punjab and Haryana Justice Rajesh Bindal. At this event, 500 toothbrushes and toothpastes were distributed to underprivileged children, and local dentists delivered an address teaching proper dental hygiene practices.

Thank you to all of our partners: Hon’ble Justice Bindal, HALSA, and Ashiana for helping us plan and run this event, and to our donors in the United States for providing the dental kits given to the children. We look forward to a continued partnership to eradicate dental disease in India and beyond!
