Today the Project32 team worked in partnership with the Virginia Garcia Memorial Health Center to support a migrant camp in Washington County, Oregon. The camp was largely comprised of migrant and seasonal farmworkers, to whom Virginia Garcia provides health care services and connection to other resources. In the spirit of that goal and our mission to eradicate youth dental disease, we partnered with Virginia Garcia to provide many toothbrushes, toothpaste, and dental floss to families at the camp. It was cool to connect with some of the people there, especially the children. Most of our team members were not very experienced with Spanish, so it was very exciting when we’d be able to communicate with the people there, most of whom had limited English skills. Overall I thought that this was a successful and rewarding trip and our team will be returning to this camp more over the next few weeks. We will keep everyone posted.
